Setting Your Table for Spring & Easter
![]()
Does anyone else feel like the year is already flying by? Here we are, saying hello to another new month and a new season breaking the cusp to greet us. March is here to kiss our skin with her warmth that holds the promise of the full spring soon to come, and I couldn’t be more excited for it. Spring is such a wonderful time of year, full of such joy and color and angst to get outside felt by pretty much everyone. With this new season and month, comes a new table setting of course.
Looking ahead for this month and something that is even fitting for Easter, we have this month's feature for how to set your table. Per the theme of this blog, not everything has to be out with the old and in with the new.
We are still featuring the beautiful white bone china set from Mikasa that is the focus of each table setting we do. Showcasing how buying something nice once, can last for forever and still be fashionable in your home for every season.
You may have noticed but this bright and cheery setting is using the same table runner as last months, made from 100% cotton and it has an elegance and airiness to it that’s perfect to capture the essence of spring. We are also reusing the orange salt and pepper shakers that were used in the October table setting. Along with those items we’re still featuring the gold Fortessa flatware that shines and adds a warmth to the dinner table while still being incredibly high quality.
However I wanted to try something different for this month. Instead of having a traditional centerpiece, why not have a center table that is cozy and inviting guests to share a cup of tea? Since we’re preparing for Easter and spring alike, I figured this carrot cake Republic of Tea was perfect for the occasion. Alongside that is the cutest honey pot from Mud Pie, as well as some local honey. Now when guests come over, they see a unique tea they would be curious enough to try without feeling like they're asking for anything since it’s already set out for them. Also can we talk about how aesthetically pleasing that tea can is? It alone is a pop of color and a decor all by itself.
You may notice another new addition is the fun square cheese and cracker plate sitting on top of the traditional white one. The plate runs for less than $10 a piece and with the mildly colorful picnic print it was too sweet not to add as a touch of pastels. The same thing can be said for the hand towel, also 100% cotton and less than $10 for a more sustainable approach rather than traditional disposable napkins.
Of course you can always add a vase of your favorite spring flowers just to bring more life into your home. I hope you enjoyed this table setting, and if you take inspiration from it please take a picture and post it to facebook and tag New Kitchen Store so we can see all the beautiful things you create with your table setting this spring!
Till next time,
Miranda
