Mikasa: Table Setting Series November

Setting Your Table For Harvest
![]()
Hello friends, I’m so happy you’re back and decided to see what another month of setting your table with Mikasa can be like! If you read last month's blog on setting your table for fall, then maybe you’ll recognize some of the items already present in this month's styling. First and foremost, it is still the same white bone china set from Mikasa used as the dinnerware that is the base of each season. This is because that’s simply the whole point of this series! To achieve a new style every season doesn’t require having to run out and buy the newest items that you’ll never use again or that will quickly go out of style. The Mikasa set is so elegant and fitting for everyday wear that there’s simply no better option to do this series with.
For this month, it features the same dinnerware, the same silverware, and even the same orange salt and pepper shakers peaking out beside the white pumpkin/ cup. Now isn’t that almost unheard of in advertising? This series is for the average home keeper who just wants the gorgeous things they see, but in a practical way. No heavy pushing to throw everything you own out in trade for something completely new!
For this harvest-themed month of Thanksgiving, this setting features some disposable paper napkins in a gorgeous pumpkin pattern. They easily add warmth and color, while also being less than $6 for the whole pack and functional. As well as the napkins some turkey shaped spoon holders were added. The turkey trays are from the brand Mudpie, and come in a pack of 3. The trays can be used for the spoon you use to stir your coffee all the way to your wooden spoons you use for cooking.
Lastly, a harvest-themed pitcher was added featuring the words “Be Thankful” filled with some simple fall foliage. I used plastic here, but you can either choose to have real flowers, or plastic! Whatever works best for you and what you have access to. The best part about using the pitcher for this purpose is that not only is it aesthetically pleasing, it adds to the ambiance, and for Thanksgiving day if you’re needing something to present your iced apple cider or whatever drink of choice in, now you have a gorgeous option on hand. All of this was placed over a table runner we carry that is simply layered over whatever table cloth you already have on your table to give it a lived in rustic feel. To add a finishing touch, a little white pumpkin we got from the local farmers market for less than $1 was added next to the pitcher to really tie together the white dinnerware set and the harvest ambiance.
Using the same base items as last month (the dinnerware set, cutlery, and s/p shakers) a whole new dining table was created! Having a beautiful kitchen doesn’t have to be something that feels so unattainable for everyday life, it can be right there hidden underneath the surface of what we’re fed everyday by companies wanting us to use and throw away. That’s the power of purchasing a quality set and adding a little bit of creativity every now and then, and that’s something we value at the New Kitchen Store. I can’t wait to set another beautiful table and share it with you all. If you’ve been keeping up with the series I’m so grateful and would love to hear your thoughts or any suggestions you may have. Feel free to email me at miranda@newkitchenstore.com. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving and can find ways to make your kitchen and dining area everything you want it to be.
Till next time,
Miranda
