This fully ripened deep red jalapeno, dried and smoked, is known as the Chioptle Morita, which measures between 12,000 to 26,000 heat units on the Scoville heat unit scale. Chipotle Morita has a sweet, smoky,  mild chocolate flavor with hints of dark fruits, such as figs and plums. Use in stews, soups, salsa, sauces, Mexican and Southwestern cooking.
